Edmonton-based husband and wife duo Peter Stone and Denise MacKay have shared their unique brand of transatlantic folk at shows and festivals near and far. Their beautiful harmonies, rich arrangements and captivating lyrics make their sound truly distinctive. Their songwriting continues to win them accolades and awards with the latest being the 2016 We Are Alberta songwriting competition for their song Run about the Ft McMurray wildfires. Hiraeth, their fourth album, is packed with the lyrically driven roots tunes that gained this band a devoted following, a Western Canadian Music Award, and most recently a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination. “100 Mile House’s songs have consistently connected with the joys and sorrows we all face in life, but their current project delves even more deeply, and takes more risks, than their previous work.” (greatdarkwonder.com) Career highlights include performances at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, Calgary Folk Festival, Canmore Folk Festival and Vancouver Folk Festival.
